OLA is a free, accredited, public online school offering students anywhere in Colorado a rigorous curriculum taught by highly qualified, experienced teachers. We understand that not all students fit the traditional school mold, and we are pleased to offer a positive choice to those unique students still searching for an effective way to meet their educational needs.

Four things set us apart:
*We are a small school with a small staff emphasizing a personalized approach for every student. Three OLA teachers have earned the state-level Online Teacher Recognition Award from the Colorado Department of Education for excellence in online teaching, more than any other school! Other staff awards/accomplishments include three Monte Vista Teacher of the Year awards, a River Watch award (Colorado Parks and Wildlife), an SLV Science Teacher of the Year Award (Intel/SLV Science Fair Board), a Wilderness Champion award (National Park Service) three published authors, and a presenter at state and national education conferences. We truly have an exceptional staff; but we're not about us - we're about serving students as best we can.
